School Operations


 
Patrick Nelson, Associate Superintendent for School Operations, oversees school operations within the Amphitheater School District. This oversight includes responsibility for the daily activities, programs, and personnel issues for the district's 18 schools, K-12. Mr. Nelson serves in the Superintendent's Cabinet and directly supervises the Executive Directors of Student Services and Curriculum and Instruction. 

National, State and District testing administrations and analysis along with supervision of school administrative hiring fall in Mr. Nelson's purview. He oversees the programmatic planning for the New High School and coordinates the efforts of the district's long-term disciplinary hearings. 

Among the departments that report to Mr. Nelson are elementary libraries, open enrollment, psychology, health services, language acquisition, Native American education, and REACH (Gifted Education). Specific areas that he gathers data and provides analysis include intersessions, open enrollment, special projects and interscholastic activities.
