Brief Description

This track was designed to be part of a long term lesson. Students need to have an understanding of technology vocabulary in order to make decisions involving puchasing a computer for home use.

Students will use the information from this lesson to create a PowerPoint presentation that describes the computer system they want to purchase and includes an explanation of their choice.

    Computers with access to the Internet and Microsoft Word.

    Accommodations for Special Needs

    Students with special needs will be working next to students that are able to help them with this lesson. The criteria used to assess these students will be modified.

    Procedures

    Students will be introduced to the lesson and its purpose.
    Students will open Netscape and go to the bookmark for TrackStar. They will open this track by typing in the Track # 89959.
    Demonstrate how to navigate within a TrackStar lesson using the projector.
    Demonstrate how to open, rename, and save Student Worksheet.
    Students will follow the directions at the top of the track to complete the worksheet.
