
Brief Description
Students will evaluate the school's website (http://www.amphi.com/~lacima) and choose pages to revise or create. They will use Netscape Composer to create the webpages.

Procedures
Day One:
Introduce project to students
and provide an overview.
Examine web pages from other
district schools (http://www.amphi.com/school.htm),
and then look at La Cima's webpage.
Complete the Web
Page Evaluation form and select a page to revise or a new page to create.
Day Two:
Read and discuss the District
WebPage Guidelines. http://www.amphi.com/~technology/webpage.htm
Decide on layout and design
for each page.
Determine what information
is needed to complete the page. If necessary, write letters requesting
information. For example, if information is needed from a staff member,
the students would need to write a letter (using proper business letter
format) asking for the specific information necessary.
Day Three:
Begin designing page.
Format background and create
heading. (Use http://www.coolarchive.com)
Insert table for information.
Take digital photos if appropriate.
Day Four:
Insert and format all necessary
text.
Check for accuracy in spelling/grammar.
Create necessary links.
Day Five:
Evaluate webpages.
Each pair of students will
evaluate their own webpage according to District WebPage Guidelines.
Each pair of students will
also have one other group assess the page according to the guidelines.
If all guidelines are met
(as determined by the 4 students and by the teacher), the page will be
posted.
