This failure definitely caused much inconvenience for users and troubleshooters alike.  All data – which includes voice mailboxes, automated attendants, homework hotlines, etc.—had to be rebuilt from “scratch.”  Obviously, this was monumental task and ranked pretty high on the technology “bummer” scale.
