Technology Department Update News
By David Fernandez
We are at
the half way mark of another school year. During the first
semester, the Information and Technology Department has
installed new computers at CDO High School, San Joaquin, El
Hogar, Wilson K-8 and Mesa Verde Elementary. Additionally, our
staff is still working with Conterra Ultra Broadband on the
implementation of our new wireless Wide Area Network. We are
nearing completion and will start connecting sites soon. The
following is an update on some personnel changes that have taken
place in the department. Happy Holidays!
Farewell to Matt Weber.
Matt Weber is the latest network technician to leave the
District. He has taken a similar position at Pima Community
College. Matt worked for nine years in the Information and
Technology Department. Matt oversaw the operation and
maintenance of Pentamation equipment, network switches, and
routers. Additionally, he was the District’s lead person when
the School Facilities Board made some network upgrades to our
schools a few years ago. The entire department wishes Matt
Weber well in his new job.
New
Network Coordinator – Adam Dellos.
Adam Dellos is the newest addition to the Information and
Technology Department. Adam’s capacity will be as a Network
Systems Coordinator II. Among his duties, Adam will help
support Pentamation, e-mail accounts, and file backup systems.
Adam Dellos previously worked at Marana Unified School District
in a similar capacity.
Adam is
very personable and excited to be at Amphitheater Public
Schools. Additionally, Adam likes to ride quads and snowboard
when he has some spare time. We believe that Adam Dellos will
be a great addition to our staff. |
