Pushing Towards Standardization

Beginning this February, our Technology Department will be using Ghost Enterprise Solution Suite for the distribution and deployment of computer based images. We have in the past used Ghost for imaging but it was used solely for computer imaging.

The Symantec Enterprise Solution Suite includes:

• Ghost 8.3 for computer image deployment and restores

• The ability to do site inventories of workstations (hardware and software)

• Application updates deployment

• “Hot Fixes” (patches)

• Other tools that the Technology Department will find useful

For sites that have not yet migrated to Microsoft, we will continue to use Zen works imaging.  For sites that have migrated or will be migrating to Microsoft, we will be relying solely on the newer version of Ghost.

Change is inevitable and as we push towards more standard and streamlined ways of operating, so does our technology.
