Amphitheater
School District at a Glance
By Debbie Anthony
What does
the public want to know about the Amphitheater School District?
How can we share educational resources with the Amphitheater
community? These are the questions that we seek to answer
through the Amphitheater web page. The Amphitheater web page (www.amphi.com)
has undergone some recent changes to impart important
information to our audience. Let’s explore the main page of
the Amphi web page to see what’s new.
The first
stop is the Amphi News section. The section will showcase the
accomplishments of our students, teachers, staff and schools of
our District and present newsworthy items. Check the press
release section for up-to-date news about our District.
The first posted press release highlights our achievements for the year
2006.
The next
stop is the extensive Teaching and Learning category. Here you
will find resources for classroom use. This includes:
Curriculum information, tools and programs
Instructional resources for the core subject
areas
Educator resources
Professional development tools
Assessment resources
The
Parent/Student Information section has been divided into school
level and district level. The school level provides calendars,
lunch menus, bus information and the student handbook. The
district level links to the Amphi Facts and the District maps.
The
community can learn about our schools by visiting the school
abstracts which have been added to the main page. Each school
presents information about their mission, organization and
philosophy and their instructional programs. Recently added
links to school report cards from the Arizona Department of
Education and National
Center for Educational Accountability School Profiles provide
information about each school. The 2006-2007 AZ LEARNS Label
shows the school’s overall performance.
Also new to
our webpage is the Volunteer link. Volunteers can provide
assistance in many areas and this link provides the information
to get them started. Help is welcome in both instructional and
non-instructional areas.
If you look
at the right-hand column of links, you will see that we now have
a link to make a tax credit donation online. Since the
inception of the online donation program, donations have
increased significantly. Taxpayers can make their contributions
through a secure method using a credit card. They can
designate the school and the extracurricular activity that will
receive the money.
The
Customer Satisfaction Survey link allows the public to provide
feedback on the level of service they receive while visiting our
campuses and departments. This will help the District evaluate
the areas that need improvement in customer service
as well as identify those who provide exceptional service.
I hope that
you find the changes to the District webpage useful and
informative. We will continue to make improvements and add
information as needed. |
