Checking Your Computer For Viruses

There are two different types of names for the virus scanning software that your computer may have.  Your computer's virus scanning software may be called the Symantec AntiVirus Client or the Norton AntiVirus Client.  You will have to click on the Start menu and scroll through the programs to determine which one your computer has.  Please follow the directions below that pertain to your particular AntiVirus client.

Symantec AntiVirus Client

1)  Click on the Start menu and scroll up to Programs.  Find the Symantec Client Security and select Symantec AntiVirus Client from the menu.
2)  On the left side of the screen select Scan Computer.  In the area that appears on the right check the box next to the C: drive.
3)  Once the box is checked click on the scan button and the scan will begin.



 

Norton AntiVirus

1)  Click on the Start menu and scroll up to Programs.  Find the Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition and select Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition from the menu.

2)  On the left side of the screen select Scan Computer.  In the area that appears on the right check the box next to the C: drive.

3)  Once the box is checked click on the scan button and the scan will begin.
