Scavenger Hunt for the Coqui in Puerto Rico

Objectives:

Academic-

  1. The students will work cooperatively to complete the scavenger hunt.
  2. Students will have some knowledge about the Coqui frog in Puerto Rico
  3. Students will search to answer questions about the Coqui frog.

Technological:
  1. The students will use basic keyboard/mouse skills to move around in the

Internet to locate and record various information.
  1. Identify specific information outlines from the Internet. (Tech. Standard 1).

Pre-Requisite Technology Skills:

Students need to know how to control the mouse.

Students need to know where to type in URL addresses.

Students need to know how to move around from on site to another on the Internet.

Materials:

Computer with Internet access

Procedures:

Review procedures on how to access the Internet with a specific URL address.

The students will work in partners to complete the questions given on the

scavenger hunt.

The students will hand in completed assignment.

Assessment:

Were the students able to complete the scavenger hunt worksheet?

Were the students able to access and move around in the Internet site?

Teacher will monitor to check if the students were working cooperatively.
