Objectives:

Academic: read about dental hygiene; identify parts of a tooth and vocabulary; print a brushing chart; connect a dot to dot

Technological: TSW start up the computer; open up Netscape Communicator and a web site; utilize the alpha keyboard and shift key; scroll using the mouse; use the print

Pre-Requisite Technology Skills: TSW need to know where the following is located and how to use: space bar, mouse, left click button, print icon

Procedures:

1. Press spacebar
2. Left click on Netscape Communicator two times. You will be at Keeling’s website (www.amphi.com/~Keeling)
3. Scroll to Track Star and left click two times (scrtec.org/track)
4. While at Search menu, type in Kilmer
5. Left click on Exploring Dental Hygiene
6. Read and follow directions at the top of the screen
7. Left click on What’s inside our teeth
8. Read and follow directions at the top of the screen
9. Left click on Wizard’s Word Dictionary
10. Read and follow directions at the top of the screen
11. Left click on No Cavities Clubhouse
12. Read and follow directions at the top of the screen
13. Left click on Wizard’s Dot to Dot
14. Read and follow directions at the top of the screen

Assessment:

1. Successful opening of the Track Star-Exploring Dental Hygiene
2. Successful printing of the tooth diagram, brush chart, and dot to dot
