Lesson Title: Welcome to the Internet

• The student will read and follow directions utilizing the Welcome to the Internet work sheet to bring up several web sites.
• The student will practice locating the Netscape Comm. icon, home page, location box, typing in URLs, using the scroll bar to arrive to the web sites listed (on the work sheet).

Technological:

• The student will use basic technology vocabulary when referring to computer hardware, software, printer, monitor, disk drives, mouse and keyboards.
• The student will be familiar with the keyboard, mouse, and control keys (return key).

The student will need to know how:

• to turn on the computer

The lesson will be taught using ESL techniques including many visuals on the computer screen and on the worksheet for children whose dominant language is other than English.
