Funschool.com fun! – read & respond reward

Objectives

Academic: Students that turn in daily read & respond homework for SFA will earn 15 minutes of educational fun time on funschool.com.

Arizona State Standards:

R-F1 Use phonetic skills to decode words.

R-F3 Use reading comprehension strategies such as drawing conclusion, summarizing, making predictions, identifying cause and effect, and differentiating fiction from non-fiction.

R-F7 Follow a list of directions and evaluate those directions for clarity.

IM-F4 Demonstrate proficiency with the operations of addition and subtraction of whole numbers.

Technological: Students will use funschool.com to practice math facts or to play a Word Madness game.

State Tech. Standard 1 Students develop the essential technology skills for using and understanding conventional and current tools, materials and processes.

State Tech. Standard 2 Students know how to solve current problems by using current technologies to conduct research, analyze solutions and present results.

Pre-requisite Technology Skills Students should have prior instruction on how to open Netscape and funschool.com.

Materials A computer with access to funschool.com.

Procedures 1. Students will open Netscape and then scroll down to fuschool.com on the Keeling home page. 2. Students may choose either Paint Brush Math or X Word Madness to play in teams or independently.
