Lesson Title: Mouse and Scrolling Skills Through Playing "Fall Fever"

OBJECTIVES

Academic

Language Arts, Standard 4: Viewing and Presenting

· Students will respond to icons by clicking on appropriate pictures

· Students will follow directions to play the game

Technological

Standard 1: Technology skills

· Students will use the scrollbar to have optimal game viewing

· Students will develop fine motor skills through using a mouse

PRE-REQUISITE TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

MATERIALS

PROCEDURES

  1. Teacher turns on computers, accesses Netscape, and the bookmark.
  2. Student waits for game to appear on screen.
  3. Student scrolls down on the taskbar to adjust the screen for the game.
  4. Student maneuvers the mouse left and right to catch the falling leaves!
  5. Have students play the game and see how high of a score they can achieve.
  6. When finished with allowable time, have students push their chairs in, turn over their mouse, and wait quietly for you to exit out of the program.

ASSESSMENT

By monitoring and observing the students engaged, teacher will determine if students are improving their mouse control skills.
