Objectives:

Academic: The students will follow written and oral directions to Access Netscape and locate the Kaleidoscope web site. The students will create a design. R-F1, R-F2, R-F4, R-F7

Technology: The students will use the mouse, identify icons, and print

Pre-requisite Technology Skills: Standard 1

The student must be familiar with technological vocabulary: keyboard, mouse, icon,drag and click.

Materials:

Computer with Internet access set to Peggy Steffen’s home page

Procedures:

  1. Turn on the computer
  2. Find the Netscape icon and double click ( Peggy Steffen’s home page should appear.)
  3. Click on The Arts
  4. Scroll down to Kaleidoscope Painter, then click
  5. Use the mouse to create a design
  6. Print

Assessment

Teacher will observe and monitor student output and behavior.

Students will demonstrate to classmate or teacher how they found the site.

Collect student products.
