Academic

Students will be able to recognize the letters of the URL.

Technological

Students will type in the URL (www.pbs.org), click on the kids section, and explore the site. (Standard 1)

Pre-Requisite Technology Skills

Students will need to be able to type, to know how to click on icons, and to know how to use the back button on Navigator.

Materials

Netscape Navigator

Procedures

    1. Post the URL on the computer or in the class where students can see it.
    2. Show students how to highlight the address box and to type in the URL.
    3. Show students where the button is for the kids section.
    4. Show students how to navigate around the site.
    5. Students will type in the URL on the computer, click on the icon for the kids section, and explore the site.

Assessment

The assessment is teacher observation.
