Six Traits and Cinco de Mayo

How would you describe a Cinco de Mayo celebration to your friends and family?  In this activity you will be viewing different photographs of a Cinco de Mayo celebration and writing a picture caption using the trait of Ideas and Content from the Six Traits writing rubric.

Directions:

1. Print out this page before starting the activity.

2. Have a pencil and a piece of paper ready.

3. Click on the link  Cinco de Mayo photographs  and look at the photographs.  Choose your favorite photo and click on it.

4. Print out the photo when finished. (Print with a color printer if possible.)

5. While looking at the picture on the computer screen and/or on your paper, write a caption under the picture on the paper you just printed out.  Remember to use descriptive words and to describe what is happening in the picture.

6. Click on BACK when finished.

How you will be graded:

Your teacher will be grading your written caption using the Six Traits rubric for Ideas/Content.
