Do you like Mexican food?  During Cinco de Mayo many traditional recipes are prepared and are an important part of the celebration festivities.  One traditional recipe that is served is guacamole.  In this activity you will read a recipe and follow the steps to make a traditional Cinco de Mayo favorite....guacamole.

Directions:

1.  Print out this page before starting this activity.

2.  Click on the link   Making Guacamole .

3.  Scroll down the page until you find the recipe for Guacamole.  Print out the page with the recipe.

4.  Ask for help from an adult before beginnning the project.

5.  Collect all the ingredients.

6.  Combine all the ingredients according to the recipe.

7.  Serve the guacamole with tortilla chips.  Eat and Enjoy!

How you will be graded:

Your teacher will expect you to participate in the making of the recipe.  Your teacher will also expect you to share your opinion during a class discussion of the guacamole that you made.  (How did you make it?, Did you enjoy making it?, Why or why not?, How did it taste?, etc.)
