Make sure to read through the whole lesson before you start!In this activity you will be making a road trip through Arizona that I can follow this summer for my vacation. The trick is to plan my vacation in alphabetical order. Because I don't have too much time off, you can only send me to 8 places.
You can choose if you want to send me to A-H, I-P, or W-Z. You will need to mark the spot on a map that you will be printing out, and number it in the order I need to go to it.
1. First you must print out a map of Arizona. Arizona Map
2. Choose which section of the Alphbet you are going to use. If you decide to use W-Z, you still need to come up with 8 locations for me to go to. There are no locations available for "U", "X", or "Z". You can do two or three locations for a different letter.
3. Go to this site, and choose your locations that you are going to send me to.

4. After you have chosen the eight towns or cities that I am to travel to, you need to mark them on the map that you printed out. If you cannot find the city or town on the map then you need to go to the Find a City site. When you get there type in the city and the state then it will draw a map for you. You may need to "Zoom Way Out" to get the map size of Arizona.
5. Your last assignment is to choose one of the cities or towns that you had me traveling to, and to create a poster on the back of your map advertising the town. What are the things in that town that I would want to see? Are there any special activities that the town offers? You have to research the town before you can make an advertisement poster. To research, either Search about information on that town or go to The ABC's of Traveling Arizona
The towns that are in blue have information on that town.
You will be graded on the following criteria:
Have 8 locations on the map, marked in alphabetical order, numbered as to where I should go 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. On the back of the map, you will need to have a poster drawn advertising the town or city that you chose from the 8 that you sent me to.
The poster needs to have 5 interesting things that I would want to know about the town in a poster format.
