They ate tarantulas???

There is a tribe of Indians called the Piaroa Indians in the southern region ofVenezuela who hunt and eat tarantulas. This rainforest is known for its plants and animals and especially its tepuis which are sandstone mountains which rise above the rainforest.

Your Job

  1. Begin with Start on the task bar. Then go to Programs. Next move up to Accessories; and finally to Notepad. Look at the top right-hand corner and click on the minus sign to minimize Notepad on the task bar.
  2. Click on Venezuelan Indians and Tarantulas and read the story about the Piaroa Indians who hunt and eat tarantulas.
  3. By clicking on the Notepad space on the menu bar you can bring up Notepad and make notes about the article you read. Write at least 3 sentences about what you learn.
  4. When you have all the information you want in your Notepad, the next step is to print. On the menu bar in the Notepad window, select File/Print. You will then print a copy of your notes.

You are now ready to click on Venezuelan Indians and Tarantulas and begin to read. When finished, click on BACK to return to this page.
