Mesa Verde School 5th graders, shown here with Skip Walker, assigned tasks to the Captains and and asked them to find pen pals along the way.

Mesa Verde students created the expedition's name: Lewis and Clark Get Smarter in the 21st
Century. Their teacher, Mrs. Lantz, Mary Walker, and Albert Einstein all approved.

 
Whitmore School 5th graders helped Mary Walker (as Captain Marywether Lewis) and Skip Walker (as Captain Willing Clark) calculate a time, route and distance plan at a pre-flight briefing in Tucson.
The Whitmore School class prepared a scrapbook for the Captains to show to natives along the trail.
Webmaster Ross Walker works from home base at La Cholla Airpark in Tucson.
The Walkers visit a fifth grade class at Solheim Elementary School in Bismarck, North Dakota. The students shared their knowledge of Lewis and Clark history in the area, and made plans to contact the Tucson students.
