Welcome! My name is Jennifer Cruce and I have been teaching at Coronado since August 2012.  From 2012-2022, I was a special education teacher. After 10 years, I decided that I was ready for a new adventure and in the fall of 2022 I began my newest adventure: 1st grade! 

Defining Moment in Education

Since I was a child, I have been surrounded by educators.  My mom is a 2nd grade teacher, my uncle is a high school P. E. teacher and coach, and many of my family members have coached sports.  From a young age, I knew I wanted to help other people.  It wasn't until I began college that I decided to pursue teaching.  I originally wanted to teach elementary students, and decided to pursue a dual major in order to better meet the needs of all students. After both interning and student teaching, I realized that I wanted to work with students with disabilities. I worked in special education from 2012-2022! However, in the fall of 2022, I began a new adventure teaching 1st grade.
