Welcome to the new school year. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child. This will be an exciting year filled with many opportunities to learn the building blocks that will help your child reach their potential in school and in life!

Now let me share a little about myself. I grew up in Tucson and graduated from Amphi High. I have lived in Tucson, the Kansas City area and Gilbert, AZ. I completed my masters in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Kansas as well as doctorate course work.  I have had a variety of experience working with children over the past 25 years and I am thrilled to be in the classroom.

I married my college sweetheart, Deric, and we have two wonderful children- Alex (24 yrs.) and Zachary (14 yrs.).  I am  a parent of a child with special needs which is what drives my passion for special education!  I have seen first hand what early intervention and teamwork can accomplish and want to make sure all children have the same opportunities for success.

I enjoy spending time with my family going to movies, hiking, swimming and traveling.  We have two dogs, Maggie and Max who keep us very busy and entertained. I also enjoy renovating our home inside and out!
