Degrees and Certifications:

I have a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Arizona with a minor in Adolescents, Community and Education. I currently hold a Teaching Certificate in Special Education for Mild-Moderate Disabilities K-12.

Ms. Michelle Bulisache

I currently teach Resource Math, Study Skills and Advisory at Coronado. This is my 4th full year at Coronado and my 5th year as a teacher. I am very excited to see what this year brings. I am a Tucson native, but enjoy visiting San Diego often, as my brother and sister live there. I love running, hiking, reading, watching movies, and spending time with family, friends, and my dog, Wilbur.

Core Educational Belief: I believe that all students are capable of learning. Every student is unique and has different needs. What works for one student may not work for another and there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to teaching. I also believe that knowing your students and developing a good relationship with them is critical. Working in education takes creativity, flexibility, understanding, and compassion.

Defining Moment in Education: After I graduated from the University of Arizona, I started a career in social work. I worked at a group home for adolescents for a year before working as a case manager for 2 years. In that time, I worked with adults who had trouble advocating for themselves and their needs. Besides creating treatment plans with them, I taught them how to advocate for themselves. While this was very rewarding, I found myself wanting to work with children in the field of education. I think that in addition to teaching students curriculum, it is important to teach them the skills they need for the real world, as well as how to advocate for themselves and their needs, and ask for help when they need it.

Prior Experience: Prior to working at Coronado, I worked at Flowing Wells as a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained program. I have also worked as a special education teaching assistant for Flowing Wells.
