Ms. Natasha Banales

Welcome to my fourth grade classroom website. I am Natasha Banales and I began teaching in 2012. Teaching is not only my dream job but my life's calling. I am constantly looking for new tools, strategies, and technology to further, not only my own education, but the education of my students. I receive immense joy from working with students, as well as watching them grow and learn over the course of the year.

 Defining Moment in Education

After my first day of school in kindergarten, I came home to my three-year-old brother and asked him to play school with me; of course, I was the teacher. This is the story that my mother shares with people when they ask about my decision to become a teacher. Throughout my life, my mother has fostered a love of teaching in me and continuously encouraged me to pursue every opportunity available to become a teacher. I am so grateful for her love and support and I can honestly say that she is a huge reason why I am an educator today.

 Core Educational Belief

I truly believe that in order for students to learn and grow, a safe and loving environment must be established first. By building relationships with students, it becomes the foundation for further growth, learning, and development of the whole student throughout the year. Once a rapport has been established, students are ready and willing to take ownership of their education for the year. Positive reinforcement is another strategy I use diligently to motivate students and encourage them to become contributing citizens of society, which is one of my major goals for each of my students.
