In Fall 2018, the Amphitheater Public School District began the development of a 5-year strategic plan that would outline the trajectory of the district over the next several years. The district's strategic plan included key goals and how the district would pursue reaching the stated goals through critical strategies and actions. 

As part of this initiative, the district's strategic plan was aligned to the Portrait of a Graduate and the 8 qualities/characteristics the district sought to develop over the course of a student's education in Amphitheater.

Included in this initiative was a stated goal that each school within the district would have their own strategic plan that was aligned to the district's, while taking into account the unique characteristics of each site, including the students served at the school, the mission/vision, and past/present and developing programs of the site.
