Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Colby Tapling
Hello Everyone! Thanks for visiting my website!
Welcome to the 2022/2023 school year, I am very excited to be teaching at Wilson in the 3-5 Cross Categorical Room!
Our classroom goals include students fostering a sense of independence, creating a welcoming environment for all, and creating lifelong learners for all students and staff members. We want students to be able to grow within their current skills, but also be challenged in order to learn even more skills, in all areas, before the end of the year.
A bit about me:
-I grew up in Chicago, Illinois.
-This is my first year teaching at Wilson, but my 9th year overall teaching. I have previously taught 4th grade, Emotional/Behavioral Exceptional Classroom, and a Life Skills Classroom.
-I moved out to Tucson in June with my wife and dog! We moved to be closer to our family and our new nephew!
-I enjoy being outside in my free time. I try to be as active as possible through running, walking, bike riding, and going to the gym.
-I have enjoyed finding new places to eat at, visit, and explore while being in Tucson and Arizona. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
-I am always looking for ways to incorporate best practices within my classroom, and working with other educators, parents and staff to create the best classroom possible.
-I look forward to working with my students and parents, as a team, to help create the best plan for each child!
I could not be able to work as efficiently or effectively without our wonderful Teaching Assistants that we have in our room. We have three TA's: Ms. Dodson, Ms. Louise, and Ms. Abby.
