• Dear Students and Families,

    I hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy. This is unquestionably without a doubt something none of us were prepared for. First and foremost, I want each one of you to take care of yourself and your family so that I can look forward to seeing you when school resumes. I really miss the interactions with you and the relationships formed through our daily interactions. As I always say to you, I look at you as my own kids so continue to stay positive and work hard through these trying times.
    In my class, things will look a bit different since its geared towards Physical activity rather than academic work. It may be difficult for some of you to be self-motivated to exercise and be active daily. If that is you, plan a routine where each day you select a specific time to exercise. These activities could include staying inside and working out, to the many exercise videos on you tube. Set a time to go outside and exercise since the weather has been nice. Activities such as, walking, jogging, biking, skateboarding, basketball, football, volleyball, baseball, or whatever you like to do to stay active during this time. Remember, you can do interval training if you are at a park. They most likely would have bars for assisted pull ups and benches for step-ups or dips. Just be creative and explore other avenues to be physically active rather than the ones I suggested to you.
    So now that you been given some examples on exercises, you will be expected to be physically active for 30 minutes Monday through Friday just like you would at school. Remember, you can choose something different that you find interesting as long as you’re being physically active.

    What you will turn into me:
    Take a few minutes each day to track what you did. You will need to note the date, amount of time you were physically active, and the activity you completed.

    (3/24/2020) 9:00-9:30: Basketball with my brother
    (3/25/2020) 12:00-12:30: Walked dog with my family
    (3/26/2020) 8:00-8:30: Did some interval training at park
    (3/27/2020) 7:00-7:30 Completed hike with friends.

    Please complete the log daily and email me your weekly activity by the end of the week. (Sunday) You can then start new on the following Monday.

    • You can also, but is not required to send me a video of you engaged in physical activity. It doesn’t have to be more than a couple of minutes. I just thought some of you might like this, since you guys are always on your phones.

     

    I have set up a Google Classroom account that I will be using to begin communicating with you regarding activities for my classes. This is new for all of us, so please be patient through this process. There may be several unexpected speed bumps along the way, so bear with me as I learn.

    Parents/Guardians, when you receive this email, please pass along the code to your son/daughter so they can log in under their school account. I will begin communicating with you through Google Classroom starting next Monday, March 30.
