• Advancement via Individual Determination - fosters a safe and open culture, high expectations for teachers and students, and collaboration in all classrooms. This course provides students the opportunity to achieve success in school by utilizing tools, resources and management strategies that encourage organization and self-regulation. Students are required to use a 3-inch binder to maintain organization for all classes, utilize planners daily at school and home, alongside collaborating with classmates to achieve academic success. Topics of discussion and classwork include goal-setting organization practices, inquiry, establishing productive learning environments, developing effective communication skills, self-advocacy, test-taking strategies, tracking grades, and thinking optimistically. With the mastery of all of these qualities, you will become a self-sustaining college-bound student. Welcome to AVID.
