This is a one-year course that provides students an opportunity to learn the guitar in a whole-class environment. Students work with each other to read, create, listen, and perform music. Students will develop simple music theory skills, including reading music, reading finger charts, reading tablature, and constructing chords to accompany melodies and perform as a soloist. Structured rehearsals include scales, proper playing postures and technique, chord diagrams and transitions, workbook assignments, collaboration and performance. This class is available to the whole school. Experience is not necessary.
