Degrees and Certifications:
I have my Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education, my BAS in Child Development, and am currently studying for my Master’s degree in Elementary Education.
Hello! My name is Brooke Wood, and this will be my second year at Copper Creek. Last year I was able to long-term sub for Music and this year I will be teaching 2nd grade! I am a native Arizonan and don’t mind the heat. I have two amazing boys who attend Copper Creek in second and fourth grade and a super fun dog named Kona.
Defining Moment in Education
Education is an engrained part of my family. By this I mean my grandmother, mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law, uncle, aunts, and two cousins have been or are teachers. My life has been focused on children since I was one. I have always had a passion for working with children and a desire to make an impact in their lives and future success.
Core Educational Belief
In my class students should feel safe, heard, understood, and supported. I truly believe every person’s brain works differently and it is my job (and the job of the students in my class) to help every brain grow and achieve great things. I also love having fun and making memories. This includes dancing, singing, playing games, and laughing. Lots of laughing! I cannot wait to share these experiences and learning opportunities with your children.
