• Welcome to Kindergarten! We will have a year FULL of learning! We will have fun with letters and numbers while we learn how to read, write, count, and do addition and subtraction. Most importantly, we will learn how to be caring, responsible, and respectful!

    General Information

    1. The school day for Keeling Kindergartners is from 7:25 – 2:10 (Wednesday is early release day at 12:10). It is VERY important that your child arrives on time and is picked up on time.

    2. Please be sure that your child’s teacher is aware of how your child gets home (bus, daycare, parent, sibling, friend). If someone different is to pick up your child, please let his/her teacher know well before dismissal. You may send a note to the teacher or call the school office at 696-6940.

    3. We go outside every day, so please dress your child in clothing that is appropriate for the weather. We also occasionally do messy activities. Please keep this in mind when dressing your child.

    4. Homework will not be assigned until later in the year. In the meantime, we strongly encourage reading at home. We want our students to be life-long readers, therefore, it is super important to read with your child each night for at least 15 minutes.

    5. We are fortunate to be able to participate in several specialist classes every week.  These include music, art, computers, library and physical education. Please make sure that your child wears sneakers on their scheduled P.E. day so they may participate in the class activities. Our P.E. day is on Thursday*Please also practice helping your child learn to tie his/her shoes.*

    6. Please make sure you look in your child’s backpack each night. It’s a good way to see what your child has been working on and we may send home information to you periodically.

    7. Kindergarten is a new experience for your children.  Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher by calling the office if you have any questions or concerns.
