Welcome to my 6th grade Language Arts classroom webpage.  I am happy to work with your child for my 16th year of teaching.  My family has lived in Tucson for 10 years.  We love the sunsets and the warm weather.  My husband, Matt, is a scientist at Ventana Medical.  I have three children:  Courtney (21), Robbie (19) and Ryan (16).  In my free time I enjoy watching my kids play soccer, hiking, reading and playing board games.  I also love to travel and have lived overseas in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. 

Defining Moment in My Education

I grew up knowing I wanted to be a teacher.  I had several teachers that made a large impact in my life and were excellent role models.  I had the opportunity to volunteer as a high school student at my previous elementary school, which further increased my interest until I followed that goal into a reality.

Core Educational Beliefs

I believe that every student has the right and responsibility to an education to help them become productive citizens in society.  I feel in 6th grade that we focus on academics, as well as work habits and social skills.
