• Defining Moment in My Education

After graduating from Penn State I worked for a number of years in the business world but was also coaching swimming in the evenings. Over years of doing this I came to the realization that I could not wait for my work day to be over so I could get to the pool to coach and work with my team. It became apparent what my true calling was going to be. I quit my day job, went back to school to get my teaching certificate and have never once regretted my decision. The memories I have of coaching and teaching and positively impacting young people are priceless!

    Core Educational Beliefs

As cliché as it may sound, I believe all students can learn. Our job as educators is to provide them with a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment and to find what works for each individual student and what interests them. The numerous and diverse programs and classes we offer here at CDO supports this belief.

    Prior Experience

I have spent my entire career here at Canyon del Oro High School. I taught World History, Government, and Economics for 10 years prior to moving into administration and have now been an assistant principal here for 10 years as well. I also coached the swim team for seven years. I am extremely proud of our students, staff, and the CDO community at large. Dorado Pride!!!
