I was born and raised in Mexico. I came to the US when I was 15 years old. Since then, I have focused on expanding my knowledge in the field of education. I attended the University of Arizona where I graduated with two Bachelors; one in Journalism and one in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. I recently graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences. I have over 10 years of experience in the field of Special Education.
I began working for the district in 2010 at Donaldson Elementary. I joined the Parents as Teachers team in September 2014. I recently became a Certified Parent Educator and I love having the opportunity to work closely with families and providing them with the knowledge and resources they need to help their children prepare for Kindergarten.
I am certified in 3 languages, Spanish, English and American Sign Language. This lets me be involved with people from many cultures and learn more about what the world has for us. In my free time I love reading, exercising, playing video games and traveling. I am also a fitness instructor, I teach Zumba in the evenings during weekdays.
