Welcome to PATH Science
I am very excited to be teaching science with the PATH program again this year. This is my 18th year teaching science in Arizona, my 15th at Amphi High School, and my third year with PATH.
Defining Moment in Education
I started "teaching science" as a Forestry Technician for the U.S. Forest Service in western Montana. I had to teach my crew how to identify trees and plants, map skills, and instrument use. My crew told my I was a good teacher, and I have been "teaching" ever since.
Core Educational Beliefs
Science is way of learning that helps us understand ourselves and how we relate to the world around us. It is important that our students become "science literate" and understand the principles and practices of "science" so that they can make informed decisions.
Prior Experience
18 years teaching Middle and High School Science
3 years teaching college level Biology and Forestry
6 years Research Scientist (Forest Genetics)
Other Acomplishments
I worked overseas in Canberra, Australia for C.S.I.R.O. Forestry for three years.
I enjoy birding and photography, as well as camping and road trips.
