Ms. Marie Vinyard

Welcome to the Speech and Language class web page

I am Ms. Vinyard and have been a Copper Creek "Hawk" for 15 years.  I was born and raised in Arizona and am a mother to two energetic children.  Providing speech and language therapy is rewarding.  I love seeing my students improve their communication skills and meet their goals.

Defining Moment in Education

When I was a child, one of my cousins was diagnosed with a significant hearing loss and received hearing aides.  In an effort to improve communication, the entire family went to classes to learn American Sign Language (ASL).  Watching my cousin learn to communicate was exciting.

Core Educational Beliefs

Every student is capable. We must try a variety of methods and techniques to find the right combination for each student.

Prior Experience

Once I obtained my Bachelor's degree, I worked as a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in the school district.  I worked under the supervision of two SLPs at elementary and middle schools.

Research Assistant for a semester at the University of Arizona, Scottish Rite Language Center.
