Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Amy Davidson

This is my thirty-second year in education.  I started my career in Los Angeles teaching students with learning differences.  Over the ten years that I worked at my first school, I had the pleasure of teaching middle school science and reading, and eventually became an Academic Counselor.  From there, I moved to another area school as a teacher and the Workability Coordinator.  Within a year, I became the College Counselor and Assistant Director of the High School, so I have extensive experience both in and out of the classroom.  I am also the proud parent of two Ironwood Ridge alumni and am grateful for the education they received here that has set them on their individual paths to success in their chosen career fields.

My favorite part of being an educator has always been working with students as they discover their strengths and interests and plan for their future.  I am happy to be at Ironwood Ridge as a counselor and to have been given the opportunity to work with so many different students with so many different interests.  While I hold a certificate in College Counseling, I have always believed that there are as many paths to success as there are students.  As our JTED/CTE counselor, I am actively involved with our CTE teachers and am continually amazed at all the exciting opportunities available to our students who pursue those programs and the certifications they offer.
