Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amy Davidson
This is my twenty-ninth year in education. I started my career in Los Angeles working with students with learning differences. Over the ten years that I worked at my first school, I had the pleasure of teaching middle school science as well as teaching reading and eventually became an Academic Counselor. From there I moved to another area school as a teacher and the Workability Coordinator. Within a couple of years I became the College Counselor and Assistant Director of the High School, so I have extensive experience both in and out of the classroom.
My favorite part of being an educator has always been working with students as they discover their strengths and interests and plan for their future. I am happy to be at Ironwood Ridge as a counselor and to have been given the opportunity to work with so many different students with so many different interests.
One of my all-time favorite quotes is from an Eagles song, "So oftentimes it happens that we live our lives in chains and we never even know we have the key." It is my hope as a counselor that I can help students find their "key" or at least help them find a direction that will take them to that key.
