PARENTS: If you wish to come in to see me, please call, or email me, and we can schedule a time that is good for both of us. I am here to assist you with anything that may be impacting a student's academic functioning.
HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW YOUR STUDENT DOING?
Stay involved! Your interest in how your student is doing is important. Ask about homework, check the Parent Portal often, know when there is a test, help your student study, and ask about grades received when you know their has been a quiz or a test.
If you have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact a teacher, or myself. We would prefer to catch potential problems early, and address them sooner rather than later. Attend student/parent/teacher conferences, sporting events your child is involved in, and other school functions. Get involved in making school decisions by joining our PTO and Site Council.
Progress Reports are mailed home at the 4 and 1/2 week mark in the quarter, and Report Cards are mailed home at the end of each 9 week quarter. Student Led Conferences are scheduled during our regular conferece days in October, December and March, with the goal of every student doing one per year. Conferences for students who are at risk academically are also scheduled during the regular conference days, as well as any other time throughout the year if your students' teachers deem it necessary. You may also request a conference with your students' teachers at any time, by contacting the Homeroom teacher, or by calling the office.
HELP KEEP YOUR STUDENT ON TRACK!
Follow a regular schedule for homework, bedtime, family responsibilities. Check in with them, show an interest in the lessons they are learning, and show them you value education by getting involved at La Cima yourself. There are many volunteer opportunities!
