Dear students,

Welcome to your English or Academic Science Literacy class!  We are going to begin learning in a new way this year -- online.  It is unusual, but we are getting better at it every day.  Let me know what works best for you! We have a common goal-- education. Do you know that teachers are students, too?  We are all life-long learners.  My defining moment took place when I decided to become a teacher and teach English as a foreign language.  I enjoy and value education, mine and my students', and I want students to be happy in my classroom and enjoy my lessons as much as I do. I used to be an EFL teacher back in my home country--I taught future teachers of English at a College of Education.  When I moved to the U.S., I went to the University of Arizona and earned M.A. in Linguistics and TESOL, taught at Amphi Middle, Mesquite High, South Valley Junior High, and then at Amphi High.  I also earned a degree in Education Administration to have more career opportunities.  Every year, we meet new students, modify our curricula and learn together to learn in new ways!
