About Me
This is my 24th year teaching - and 12th year teaching Forensic Science and Biology at Ironwood Ridge. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado and received my B.S. in Forest Biology at Colorado State University. After that, I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador. It was there that I realized how much I loved to teach. When I returned, I went back to school and received my teaching certification and Master's in Education from Ottawa University. After that, I taught Science (mainly Biology) In the past I have coached Ironwood Ridge's boys and girls cross-country and track teams, and I recently became a certified yoga instuctor. I love to run, cycle and hike in the great outdoors and balance myself with yoga.
I am very excited to be teaching at Ironwood Ridge again this year - even during this historic yet stressful COVID-19, Black Lives Matter and Educational Era. My mother was a teacher, as was my grandmother - and my grandfather was a high school prinicipal in Zeigler Illinois. My love of teaching runs in my blood.
