Mrs. Amanda Pellman

Welcome to my Science classroom webpage. I am highly qualified in both math and science. I started my career teaching middle school math. When I started teaching at La Cima I switched to Science. This is currently my 4th year teaching science.

Defining Moment in Education:

When I was in 3rd grade, my dad began his teaching career. He taught 8th grade Science. I took on the role of being his little helper. I was able to see all the exciting activities he did in his classroom. His Science class was fun, engaging, and everyone was learning, even students who claimed they didn’t like school. He was able to bring Science to life. To this day, whenever I encounter his former students, they always have memories about his class. He inspired me to be a Science teacher who gives students the opportunity to be the actual scientists.

Core Educational Belief:

I believe that all children deserve a quality education. Every single student comes to school with their own unique experiences and talents and it is within a teacher’s ability to seek out the talents and interests of their students to create a positive, safe, and engaging environment. When a teacher genuinely cares about his or her students the opportunities for learning are endless.

Prior Experience:

I previously taught for the Mammoth-San Manuel Unified School District. I worked at 2 different schools where I taught 8th Grade Math, Technology, and Math Intervention.
