Thank you for visiting my page! I'm Mr. Ronstadt and this is my seventh year teaching at CDO High School.

I have a passion for designing and building. Everything from small woodworking projects to large construction projects. I believe it is a gift to be able to use your mind and your hands to create something from raw materials. Starting with an idea, then a 2-dimensional drawing and finally a 3-dimensional object, it is just fun to build amazing things!

Defining Moment:

When I was working in industry, I spent some time building a few projects with my son and my niece when they were teenagers. As I taught them to use hand and power tools to build, I watched them grow in confidence as they became proficient and skilled at using the tools. It was really a turning point for me. I found this experience to be so much more rewarding than just "working a job". Now that I get the opportunity to work with young people to encourage a desire to learn some very practical and hands-on skills, it is very fulfilling and I feel grateful to be here at CDO, teaching in our amazing facility.

Core Educational Belief:

I believe that young people can only benefit from taking my classes. To learn how to dig in and solve problems, be able to sit down and draw up plans for a project, understand dimensions, learn to measure, cut and manipulate materials to create and build or repair household projects will make them better equipped for their future.
My goals are to instill new life skills, build resumes, express the importance of hard work, careful attention to detail, and safely and properly use tools. Not to mention, there are some great opportunities for high-paying careers in these fields and we have several connections for internships through our program. By learning (Construction) safety, through OSHA and NCCER training, basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and masonry and/or (Architecture) hand drafting, design, BIM/CAD drafting, model making, and applying measurement and scale concepts, an individual can only benefit.
