 My Defining Moment in Education

I began my career of speech-language pathology in the medical setting. After a few years of clinical & hospital work, I made the transition to public schools. As the SLP at Marana High School, I was able to help high-schoolers with language impairments pass their classes and earn their credits - despite having significant language processing difficulties. That first high school graduation, where I got to watch proudly as my students with communication disorders crossed that graduation stage and received their high school diplomas, was my defining moment. That's when I knew that I belonged in schools as a speech-language pathologist, helping students with communication disorders realize how truly valuable and capable they are.

My Educational Beliefs

I believe that all children are valuable. I believe that all children have a voice - sometimes we just need to help them find it.
