Mrs. Andrea Fyock, M.Ed
Hello! My name is Andrea Fyock. I am a Special Education teacher and will be working with the kindergarten and first grade students this year! I received my Bachelor's degree in General Education and Special Education from Northern Arizona University, with high distinction, and my Master's degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. I have been teaching since 1999 and have experience teaching preschool through 9th grade. In addition, I also serve as the Special Education Facilitator for Donaldson and the Admin Designee/AP for Mrs. Letts. If you have a question, I am available to help!
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I believe all students are capable of learning; sometimes they need additional guidance to access their learning in different ways. I enjoy that challenge of finding new teaching methods, materials and lessons in order to keep students actively engaged and learning. I am a life long learner and am constantly setting goals for myself and my students. Some goals that I have accomplished professionally include the following: New Teacher of the Year- 1999; Dallas Morning News Character Counts Classroom Award- 2000; and Southern Arizona Boys Volleyball Coach of the Year-2005, 2006.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my husband and family. I have two sons, ages 19 and 13. My eldest son attends New Mexico State and has been accepted into the OMPP medical program. My youngest son, is in 7th grade this year. He is active within the Boy Scouts, band, online gaming and is a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Outside of school, I have many hobbies. I enjoy hiking, cooking, gardening, reading mystery novels and working on DIY projects around the house. I look forward to working with you and your child this year!
