Mrs. Andrea Fyock, M.Ed
Hello! My name is Andrea Fyock. I am a Special Education teacher and will be working with the Second and Third Grade Resource students. I received my Bachelor's degree in General Education and Special Education from Northern Arizona University, with high distinction, and my Master's degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. I have been teaching since 1999 and have experience teaching students from preschool through 9th grade.
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I believe all students are capable of learning; sometimes they need additional guidance to access their learning in different ways. I enjoy that challenge of finding new teaching methods, materials and lessons in order to keep students actively engaged and learning. I am a life long learner and am constantly setting goals for myself and my students. Some goals that I have accomplished professionally include the following: New Teacher of the Year- 1999; Dallas Morning News Character Counts Classroom Award- 2000; and Southern Arizona Boys Volleyball Coach of the Year-2005, 2006.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family. I have two sons, ages 16 and 10. My Junior is active within the Marching Band, Steel Drums, Boy Scouts and volunteering within the community. My 4th grader is learning the cello, active within the Cub Scouts, plays baseball and is in Tae Kwon Do. I also enjoy hiking, cooking, gardening, reading mystery novels and working on DIY projects around the house. I look forward to working with you and your child this year.
