I'm so excited to begin my third year teaching Sports Medicine at CDO. Seeing the growth of this program & the students involved in it has been quite incredible. In December 2016 I graduated from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. I've always loved sports, and played a lot growing up until an injury took me off the field. Ever since then I've loved sports medicine.
By teaching this class, I hope to generate interest and knowledge of anatomy and sports medicine. My own interest in athletic training sparked in high school. I'm so excited to bring everything full circle and enlighten the next generation of health care professionals.
I find athletic training to be immensely rewarding. The National Athletic Trainer's Association calls us athletic trainers "health care professionals who collaborate with physicians. The services provided by ATs comprise prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions." With this in mind, my intent is to ensure the safety and success of each student athlete here at CDO.
