Welcome

Welcome to Early Childhood Education!  I am not only the Early Childhood Education teacher, but I also am the Canyon del Oro Early Childhood Center Director. This is my 26th year in education, my 18th year in Amphi, and my fifth year at CDO!  My daughter graduated from CDO and I am proud to be a DORADO!  I was born and raised in Tucson and went to school at the University of Arizona.  I may wear CDO GREEN, but I bleed RED and BLUE!  GO CATS!

Defining Moment in Education

My mom taught elementary computer classes at a local school when I started college.  I volunteered at her school teaching sign language and found I really enjoyed working with children.  I changed my major to education, stayed at the U of A for two extra years to earn my early childhood special education credits, and the rest is history!

Core Educational Beliefs

The one core belief I have adopted and taken with me during the span of my entire career has been to prepare students to independently navigate life FIRST!  I believe that as a teacher in Career and Technical Education (CTE), this belief is standard #1.  My second core belief is to instill the knowledge and leadership skills needed to lead this new generation.
