This is my 25th year teaching. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois (Go Cubs!). I have lived in Northwest Tucson (Oro Valley) since 1973. I went through school in the Amphitheater School District.
I have two beautiful daughters! My oldest just graduated from U of A and my youngest is a Junior in college. I a sweet daschund, Daisy, and a bloodhound named Mack! I enjoy traveling, spending time with my large family and friends, and continuing my learning journey.
Defining Moment in Education
I knew I wanted to be a teacher when my third grade teacher at Harelson Elementary inspired me to love learning and that I have unique gifts to share with the world.
Core Educational Belief
I believe that all students can learn when given rich, meaningful and purposeful tools. An educator should empower intrinsic motivation in learners.
Prior Experience
I have taught elementary for 25 years. I have experience teaching in a self-contained gifted classroom.
I have had many opportunities to mentor university students as a cooperating teacher.
