Mrs. Loralee Lewis

Welcome

Welcome to our classroom.  I am blessed to work each year with amazing children. Our theme is Lewis Legends. A legend is someone who accomplishes amazing things. I feel this is true of each and every one of my students. I love to see their excitement and love of creating their own learning. As a parent I understand the pulls of many activities on our time. It is a crazy balance. We truly wear many hats and I would never want to trade any of mine. Life gives us lots of wonderful experiences. Some of my favorite times are those curled up with my kids going on fabulous adventures in a book. I hope to pass my love of learning on to my children, and my students.

Defining Moment in Education

I loved, loved, loved my geometry teacher. I had the most wonderful geometry teacher in junior high. She had a way to make math come to life. It was so much fun. If we didn't understand something, she would take the time to reteach it or show us a different way. Many times as students we became the teachers for our peers. This was the beginning of my love of math and why I strive so hard to pass that on to my students.

Core Educational Belief - Creating Lovers of Learning

My personal philosophy on teaching is focused around the child. Children are the most important and valuable resource we have. They are our future, both in leadership and community. I strongly believe parents and teachers work together in shaping the lives of our children. My classroom is one of respect for all and cooperation with each other. It is a place of creativity, safety, fun, and learning.
