Mr. Ronald "Russ" Halliday

Welcome to a new school year!  I just wanted to tell you a little about myself.  First I will talk a little bit about my teaching experience.  This is my first year teaching at Amphi, and I am so excited to be at Donaldson.  I will be teaching the 4th and 5th grade multiage classroom.  Last year I was at another district and taught 7th and 8th Grade Multiage Language Arts.  So, I have some experience in a multiage classroom. I have two dogs who are named Chuy Lewis and Phoebe Buffet.  They are both rescues.  Phoebe is a Basset hound and Chuy is a mix pound puppy with some beagle and basset (I think).  I just moved to Oro Valley from Tucson and I still get lost.  I have lived in Tucson most of my life and I had never been north of Tucson Mall.

I graduated from the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats) with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, minors in Pre-Law and Business.  I went on from there to receive my Masters in Business Administration.  While I was finishing my MBA I started substitute teaching, and I found my passion for teaching.  So, I went back to school once again to get my teaching certification.  I love teaching and I am so grateful that I found a profession that I truly enjoy.

Teaching Philosophy

A passion for learning is essential!  Finding your passion makes learning enjoyable.  I want to empower my students to become lifelong learners.  To become the best that they can be by finding their passion.
