Defining Moment in Education
During high school and college, I was always babysitting and taking on summer jobs working with kids. During these times, I realized how much I loved working with children, so teaching became the clear choice when I began college! I love using new and exciting methods to engage kids and keep them learning.
Core Educational Belief
I believe that all children have the right to learn in the best environment. I believe every teacher should work very intentionally to develop lasting relationships with each student, while making sure their instruction matches to learning style of each student in their room.
As soon as I stepped onto Walker's campus, I felt at home. Walker's red brick schoolhouse style offers charm, while each member of the staff provides a welcoming experience for the staff, parents, and students. As an Amphitheater School District graduate myself, I am extatic to be working at a school within the district that helped make me the teacher I am today.
I have been teaching since the 2016-2017 school year. I spent my first two years in another district teaching kindergarten and 5th grade. I have been teaching 3rd grade at Walker since the 2018-2019 school year.
